Assistant Accountant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This role will provide comprehensive financial support, analysis, and reporting for three of our smaller Hologic entities, while also contributing to the success of our wider global team. What to Expect:

Financial Reporting & Analysis

Preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for assigned entities, ensuring compliance with Hologic's accounting policies and relevant standards (e.g., US GAAP). Conducting in-depth analysis of financial performance, identifying trends, variances, and areas for improvement to support decision-making.

Internal Controls & SOX Compliance

Playing a key role in maintaining and enhancing the internal control environment. Performing control activities, documenting processes, and supporting internal and external SOX audits.

VAT and Intrastat Submission

Assisting with VAT and Intrastat submissions, with training provided by our in-house VAT specialists.

Process Improvement

Identifying and implementing opportunities to streamline and improve financial processes and reporting for the assigned entities.

Data Analysis & Advanced Excel

Leveraging advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS) to manipulate, analyse, and present large datasets efficiently for financial reporting.

What We Expect:

Education: AAT Qualification or a degree in Finance/Accounting is highly desirable, with a clear ambition to become fully qualified. Excel skills: Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to work with pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and large datasets. Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to work, ensuring accuracy in all financial reporting and analysis. Work Ethic: A proactive, "can-do" attitude with a willingness to take ownership of tasks and see them through to completion. Deadline-Driven: Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines. Collaboration & Initiative: A team player who collaborates effectively with colleagues and takes the initiative to solve problems independently.
