Sonoco has an opening for an Assistant Adhesives Processor with their Akron, IN facility. 

What you will be doing:

Responsible to the Adhesive Processor for the safe, efficient performance of all duties related to the manufacture and packaging of quality adhesives which would include, but not limited to: Preparing, weighing and loading of raw materials in the correct order and using the formula for correct cooking, mixing, cooling and transfer procedures.Operates ribbon blender cooker, various mixing tanks, transfer pumps, water and steam valves, forklift, power washer and various hand and power tools.Produces adhesives to specified quality specifications and uses various lab equipment (viscometer, ph meter, solids tester) to ensure that product is within stated parameters.Maintains records and paperwork in neat and legible manner.Safely handles many kinds of hazardous materials including acids, caustic, and preservatives.Follows all Adhesive division and plant safety rules. Uses forklift to unload and load incoming supplies and move raw materials from storage to work areas.Safely loads tankers, glue bag and totes and properly labels same with type of adhesive.Keeps work area and equipment clean and orderly on a continuous basis.
