See below the current opportunity to begin (or return to!) your Boston College experience! **Job Description:** The Boston College Alumni Association (BCAA), the largest Catholic alumni organization in the world, serves over 140,000 alumni with a wide array of programs and services including class year events, regional chapter events, affinity events, spiritual events, and community service opportunities. The Assistant/Associate Director reports to the Senior Associate Director, Alumni Regional Engagement and will play an integral team role by fostering alumni connections to Boston College in support of the University’s mission. The incumbent will manage the recruiting, training, and stewarding over 75 regional leaders and volunteers, and will act as a liaison between regional leaders/volunteers and various University constituencies. The Assistant/Associate Director will be responsible for planning and executing over 100 regional events including receptions, service projects, spiritual masses, mentoring, networking, and Athletics events, while establishing effective budgets and timelines for regional events and programs. They will also work in partnership with principal, major, leadership and annual giving colleagues to reach shared goals, identifying opportunities for prospects and donors to become engaged with the Alumni Association and University Advancement at large, serving as hosts, speakers or guests. They will be responsible for donor discovery work, guiding alumni and parents from engagement to philanthropy and through the donor lifecycle. The incumbent will develop collateral materials necessary, including event invitations, postcards, fliers, website materials, Alumni App notifications and more in order to foster continued volunteer interaction and participation, and will be responsible for developing and implementing regional communication formats, policies, and content. The Assistant/Associate Director will autonomously oversee two initiatives throughout the fiscal year in partnership with campus partners, such as the Athletic Department, Admissions, Mission and Ministry, C21, or Student Affairs. The incumbent will also work to partner with senior leaders, campaign, and strategic initiatives colleagues to ensure that “big ideas” and other key elements of the campaign framework and university strategic plan are woven throughout the alumni programs, initiatives and engagement strategies. As a primary point of contact with alumni, the Assistant/Associate Director must be able to represent the University in a professional, enthusiastic manner with a customer service and team focus. Public speaking ability is a key success factor for this position. Extensive domestic travel and a flexible schedule are required. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. The salary range for this position is listed below with the final salary based on various factors, including the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and internal equity considerations. First Level Assistant Director $57,800 – $72,250 Second Level Assistant Director $63,800 – $79,750 Associate Director $70,500 – $88,150 **Requirements** Requires a Bachelor’s degree. For the entry level Assistant Director requires 1-3 years of professional experience in alumni relations, volunteer management, fundraising, event planning, or non-profit related experience, preferably at an institution of higher education or non-profit. The next level Assistant Director requires a minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in alumni relations, volunteer management, fundraising, event planning, or non-profit related experience, preferably at an institution of higher education or non-profit. The Associate Director requires a minimum of 5+ years of professional level experience working in alumni relations programs or related experience. Experience working collaboratively with cross-institutional partners including vice presidents, university officials, deans, faculty, staff, colleagues and volunteers. Shown experience working autonomously to create and design new initiatives. Proven experience recruiting, on-boarding and stewarding volunteers, and proven leadership and organizational skills. Prior experience working with regional chapter networks at an institution of higher learning is preferred. All job levels require an ability to provide the detailed planning and budget management necessary to ensure that events and programs are run in a fiscally responsible manner, cost-effective and break-even; an ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines; excellent interpersonal, oral and written skills including public speaking when necessary; an ability to work well with volunteers in a fast-paced environment. Weekend and evening work is required according to the event, meeting, and work schedule of Alumni Relations. Extensive domestic travel and some international travel and a flexible schedule are required as is public speaking. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint; and experience with Canva, Zoom and Adobe InDesign is preferred, familiarity with Blackbaud, or other alumni software, is strongly preferred.
