Job Summary
The Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Sciences Department seeks to hire a non-tenure track faculty position on a 12 month appointment. This position will report to the Department Chair.
Essential Functions
As a core Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program faculty member, this individual will teach in the DPT program, participate in admissions interviews, advise DPT students and contribute to their success, maintain a scholarly agenda that meets accreditation guidelines, participate in curriculum review, and provide service to the department, college, and-or University. Teaching in other college or university programs is possible. Opportunities for clinical practice exist with Drexel University Physical Therapy Services. Faculty responsibilities are otherwise governed by Drexel University’s non-tenure track faculty policy and the workload policies of the College of Nursing & Health Professions and Drexel University. All Drexel physical therapy faculty are expected to maintain physical therapy licensure in Pennsylvania and APTA membership. Other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications
PhD or Doctorate in Physical Therapy, Rehab Sciences, or related field At least 5 years of experience in physical therapy clinical practice or education Physical therapy licensure in the State of Pennsylvania or eligibility for licensure Commitment to excellence in physical therapy teaching and education An evidence-informed focus and growth mindset Strong communication skills and evidence of productivity working with teams of people Commitment to the mission, vision, values, and direction of the PTRS department, College of Nursing & Health Professions, and Drexel University APTA membership or willingness to become a member of the APTA on hirePreferred Qualifications
Teaching experience in a Doctor of Physical Therapy program Expertise that complements the PTRS faculty and faculty in the CNHP/Drexel University Post-professional degree or interest in obtaining one (i.e., PhD, EdD, DHSc, DSc, ScD) and-or board certification in a physical therapy specialty Content expertise in acute care, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, neurorehabilitation, geriatrics, neuromusculoskeletal rehabilitation, anatomy, exercise science, and population health. This is a full-time Faculty position classified as Exempt. The salary offered is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
