Faculty Rank or Job Title Assistant/Associate/Full Professor, Pathology Medical Educator Job Category: Faculty/Instructional Department Medical Education-BSOM EEO number: 25Y010 Position FTE 50% Minimum Annual or Hourly Rate Negotiable Salary Band: NA FA Job Summary/Basic Function: The Pathology faculty position will fulfill a critical need within the Department of Medical Education at WSU BSOM. This position will be responsible for the curricular development and teaching of the pathophysiologic basis of disease and histology throughout the pre-clinical Foundations and clinical Doctoring phases of the MD program, including involvement in curricular committees and opportunity to direct a Foundations module/course. Minimum Qualifications Successful candidate has or will have –1. MD or DO degree;2. At least one year in a clinical practice;3. Completion of an accredited Pathology Residency;4. Pathology board certification or board eligibility with certification obtained within the initial period specified by the granting organization;5. Ohio Medical License or ability to obtain it.
Assistant Professor: All of the above requirements.
Associate Professor level candidates must fulfill all the requirements above, along with at least 5 years’ experience as an Assistant Professor with an exemplary scholarly portfolio and supervisory experience.
Full Professor candidates must fulfill all the requirements of Associate Professor along with at least 5 years’ experience at the Associate Professor level with an exemplary scholarly portfolio and leadership experience.

Essential Functions and percent of time: 80%— Provide innovative pathology teaching of medical students throughout the 4-year MD program, specifically involved in collaborative curricular design and teaching of basic science and clinical content related to pathology. This may include being a course director for one or more Foundations modules, as well as serving on various curriculum committees.
10% — Maintain an active research agenda, with a focus on pathology education and innovation curricular approaches.
10% — Other duties as assigned Essential Functions and percent of time (cont'd): Non-Essential Functions and percent of time: Working Conditions Special contract position with continuation dependent on funding. Special contract terms and conditions of employment apply.
