The Department of Social, Behavioral, and Administrative Sciences of the Touro College of Pharmacy, New York is seeking a highly motivated individual for an assistant professor/associate professor/professor position in its Doctor of Pharmacy program. The ideal candidate will have background and/or experience in one or more of the following areas: health systems and policy, socio-behavioral aspects of patient care and health outcomes, communication, pharmacy management, pharmacoeconomics, public health, law and ethics, and/or pharmacoepidemiology.

Responsibilities

The faculty will have responsibilities that include teaching, research and scholarly endeavors, and service to the College and University. Faculty will be expected to teach in professional, graduate, and competency-based training programs, including classroom and online teaching as well as precepting/mentoring students and other trainees. Primary teaching responsibilities will be coordination and instruction in the Department of Social, Behavioral, and Administrative Sciences. These can include health systems and policy, socio-behavioral aspects of patient care and health outcomes, communication, pharmacy management, pharmacoeconomics, law and ethics, and/or pharmacoepidemiology in the Doctor of Pharmacy program. Other teaching responsibilities may be assigned based on departmental needs and faculty interest or expertise.

 

The successful applicant is expected to establish an active program of research and scholarship that can potentially be sustained by intra and extramural funding. The ideal candidate will have research experience in one or more of the following areas: outcomes research; population health; pharmacoepidemiology; health economics; health outcomes; data science; and predictive analytics. Priority will be given to candidates with a proven track record of competitive extramural funding. Service to the College and University consistent with a teaching-focused institution is expected. These include, but are not limited to serving on committees, mentoring students, and advising student organizations.

Qualifications Candidates must have a pharmacy degree (PharmD preferred), and a PhD in social and administrative pharmacy, healthcare outcomes, healthcare services research, public health, psychology, or a related field.The candidate should have an interest in developing and teaching graduate-level courses in the department.Qualified candidates should possess excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, and be dedicated to student-centered education. Maximum Salary USD $138,640.00/Yr. Minimum Salary USD $110,912.00/Yr.
