Assistant/Associate/Full Professor (CRNA Program Administrator)
Location: Bowling Green, KY Category: Faculty Posted On: Wed Oct 9 2024 Job Description: The School of Nursing & Allied Health is pleased to announce plans to establish a Doctor of Nursing Practice - Nurse Anesthesia program and is accepting applications for its founding administrator. In collaboration with the director of the School of Nursing and Allied Health, the program administrator will be involved in developing curriculum and outcomes and will take the lead in seeking accreditation with the Council on Accreditation for Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA). Other responsibilities include: + Provide guidance to the CRNA faculty, staff, and students within the DNP-CRNA program concentration at the Bowling Green and Owensboro campuses + Provide oversight of simulation labs at the Bowling Green and Owensboro campuses + Work with the faculty and staff in the CRNA-DNP program concentration to plan teaching assignments, academic advising responsibilities, classroom scheduling, course schedules and clinical agency contracts + Ensure the development and delivery of best practices with respect to technology and pedagogy + Regularly review and evaluate the curriculum for appropriate rigor and scope + Complete university, college, departmental, state, regulatory, and/or accrediting agency reports for the CRNA-DNP program concentration + Assure workload reports for all faculty within the CRNA-DNP program concentration are completed annually + In collaboration with the director of the School of Nursing and Allied Health, the program administrator will participate in hiring and evaluation of faculty and staff working within the CRNA-DNP program concentration + Monitor or oversee guidance to students, faculty, and support staff in the process of licensure applications for graduating students in the CRNA-DNP program concentration + Assure graduates have met all CRNA-DNP program concentration and WKU graduation requirements + Plan and participate in events related to the CRNA-DNP program concentration, such as new student admissions, recruitment events, career days, and events around graduation + Participate on university, college, and/or departmental level committees + Mentor faculty in research activities + Participate in required ceremonies, orientations, and other community outreach for the department, college, and university + Communicate periodically with clinical facilities utilized for learning experiences to maintain valid contracts + Ensure clinical site visits are conducted and oversee student rotation schedules + Ensure evaluations of affiliate sites and clinical instructors are completed and reviewed + Oversee and review all applications for student admissions including verification of transcripts + Provide mentoring and training to the Assistant Program Administrator to fulfill these same duties + Teaches graduate anesthesia courses, including summers Job Requirements: Qualifications for Appointment at All Ranks + Eligible for tenure or tenure-eligible faculty line within the nursing program + Current CRNA certification by NBCRNA + Current APRN licensure in Kentucky + Current RN license in Kentucky or compact state + Minimum of 3 years of teaching and educational administrative experience including curriculum development, instruction, and evaluation at a graduate level with a proven record of establishing and maintaining COA and CCNE accreditation + Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience as a CRNA + Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications + Live in or be willing to relocate to the Bowling Green, KY area + Strong leadership and management skills + Evidence of effective interpersonal and communication skills that promote a collegial environment, effective problem solving, and consensus building + Distinguished record in and commitment to teaching, scholarship, and service + Knowledge of current nursing issues + Participation in at least one professional nursing organization Additional Qualifications for Appointment at the Rank of Assistant Professor + Candidates must hold an earned PhD/DNP, in nursing or a related field, + Candidates must hold at
