By 2030, we strive to be on the top of nursing education through constructing five new campus buildings (one on each campus), the creation of five endowed professorships, student scholarships, producing more qualified nurses, and starting Montana’s first Certified Nurse Midwifery program.
The Mark and Robyn Jones College of Nursing (CON) offers a baccalaureate in nursing, accelerated baccalaureate in nursing, Master of Nursing focused on clinical leadership, and Doctor of Nursing Practice with focus in either family nurse practitioner or psych-mental health nurse practitioner. The College has five campus locations across the state, located in Billings, Bozeman, Great Falls, Kalispell, and Missoula.
The Mark and Robyn Jones College of Nursing is seeking nursing faculty representing diverse backgrounds to assume tenure track positions in a variety of specialty areas. Faculty members have opportunities to teach in both the graduate and undergraduate programs. Tenure track faculty members are expected to establish a focused program of research and to successfully seek extramural funding. All members of the faculty are expected to engage in college and university service and to provide nursing leadership in Montana and beyond through active participation in professional nursing organizations. We hope to attract applicants who are committed to helping students from diverse backgrounds succeed. Duties and Responsibilities The Mark and Robyn Jones College of Nursing is seeking nursing faculty to assume tenure track positions in a variety of specialty areas. Faculty members have opportunities to teach in both the graduate and undergraduate programs. Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills Doctorate in nursing or related field (ABD nearing completion considered for Assistant Professor). One graduate degree in nursing. Record of or demonstrable potential for excellence in teaching. Record of excellence or demonstrable potential for excellence in research/scholarship. Eligibility for RN licensure in Montana. Evidence of strong written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills Teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels Experience with simulation pedagogy and distance delivery. Demonstrated potential or ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams. Evidence of service to the nursing profession. Potential to foster and support student and faculty diversity. The Successful Candidate Will The successful applicant will be committed to excellence in teaching nursing courses as well as in developing a program of funded research that is of relevance to the profession and in disseminating that work through peer-reviewed publications. Additionally, this individual will demonstrate the commitment to being a collaborative team member in the College, to supporting the mission of the College, and to working in a collegial manner with health care professionals external to the university.
