This integrated curriculum requires a broad and complementary set of teaching faculty that collectively cover expertise across all of these disciplines.

This faculty position will fulfill a critical need within the Department of Medical Education (DME) at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine (WSUBSOM). As Clinical Science Physician Educator within the undergraduate medical curriculum, the incumbent will be responsible for developing and teaching curricular content to undergraduate medical students across the fully-integrated first two years of the medical curriculum. Additionally, the incumbent will be charged with the effective contextualizing visceral organ systems pathophysiology in a clinical setting. Minimum Qualifications DO, MD or equivalent degree. Strong record of and significant experience with clinical medical education. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Successful candidate has or will have an Ohio Medical License or ability to obtain it.


Assistant Professor level candidates must meet all requirements above.

Associate Professor level candidates must meet all requirements above, plus have at least five years experience as an Assistant Professor with an exemplary scholarly portfolio and supervisory experience and meet all Associate Professor Promotion requirements.

Full Professor candidates must fulfill all the requirements of Associate Professor along with at least five years’ experience at the Associate Professor along with an exemplary scholarly portfolio and leadership experience and meet all Professor Promotion requirements.

Experience with engaged/active learning modalities (e.g., Team-Based Learning, Peer Instruction, problem-based learning). Experience with Standardized Patient Encounters and Objective Structured Clinical Exams (OSCE). Experience with student support for the Step One examination. Record of academic accomplishments in foundational biomedical sciences. Essential Functions and percent of time: 50%Teaching Direct and teach significant portions of the visceral organ systems aspects of the curriculum (more than one year across the curriculum). Develop, review, and refine assessments and course materials collaboratively with department faculty. Serve as a WrightQ (problem-based learning) facilitator. Teach clinical skills, including patient interview and physical exam. Provide clinical expertise and assistance for the development of clinical practice integration within the Doctoring and Advanced Doctoring phases of the curriculum. This may include being a module co- director in 1-2 modules, and active teaching throughout each year of the FCP Curriculum. Other medical student teaching as assigned. Serve on relevant committees.


30% Student Support Collaborate with relevant stakeholders in curricular development, modification, and assessment to support the needs of medical students preparing for Step 1, including the creation, implementation, and assessment of a curriculum for dedicated Step 1 study time in the M2 year and electives for extended Step 1 preparation. Participate in meetings of the Office of Student Affairs and Admissions (OSAA) and DME to share data and insights into the overall progress of students in Step 1 preparation. Collaborate with OSAA and Office of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion to develop, implement, and teach in BSOM pre-matriculation program(s). Maintain detailed records of student performance and interventions provided to produce shared data with the described important stakeholders such as the Student Promotions Committee (SPC), Office of Student Affairs & Admissions, Office of Assessment & Evaluation, DME Curriculum Office, and Office of Accreditation. Maintain an active research agenda, with a focus on medical education and innovation curricular approaches.
