Appointment at the rank of Associate Professor will be considered for candidates with an exceptional record of research and academic leadership. Minimum Experience / Education: UNC Charlotte gives primary consideration to the earned doctorate or terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline. Preferred Education Skills and Experience: Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent degree in optical science, optical engineering, physics, or a closely related field, a significant record of research and publication, and a strong commitment to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate is expected to establish a vigorous externally-funded research program. While all areas and disciplines within quantum optics will be considered, we especially welcome applicants with a focus on experimental research.
