Assistant/Associate Professor of the Practice, Counselor Education
**Job Description:** Fairfield University School of Education and Human Development (SEHD) Counselor Education Department is excited to invite applications for a fulltime Assistant/Associate Professor of Practice (non-tenure track) position, beginning Fall, 2025. The Department offers two counseling tracks, School Counseling (SC) and Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) at the master’s level, which are accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). **The Position:** The successful candidate will typically teach 4+4 (with the potential for course reduction as compensation for administrative duties), advise students, and participate in professional service at the school, university, state, regional, and national levels. Faculty in these programs teach face-to-face. **Responsibilities** + Teach both CMHC and School counseling courses + Provide program advisement and mentorship to students + Engage in faculty activity, including service and advocacy efforts + Collaborate with faculty to support program coordination, program evaluation, curriculum development, admissions, and recruitment of a high-quality and diverse student body + Participate in shared governance as expected of all faculty, usually in departmental, school, and university committees and other service assignments. **Requirements:** + Doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision preferably from a CACREP accredited program. ABDs with an established timeline to graduate within one year of employment will be considered. + Professional counseling experience. + Eligibility for license and/or certification as a counselor in Connecticut + A commitment to excellence in graduate teaching. + Knowledge of CACREP standards and process. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Experience teaching master’s level counseling courses in school counseling and clinical mental health counseling. + School counseling certification and or LPC license (or eligibility) in Connecticut. **Application Process:** Review of applications will begin  **immediately** and will continue until the position is filled.
