The Assistant AD will serve as a member of the Department of Athletics leadership team. This position will perform various tasks and functions to oversee and assist with day-to-day and event operations for all programs.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

•Planning, coordination, and execution of home event management/gameday operations for all sports, including pre and post-event set-up and tear down of facilities, grounds, and equipment associated with athletic events. A focus on enhancing the game environment for all sports. •Schedules all athletic facilities for training sessions, meetings, practices, contests, camps, and special events. •Hires and organizes employees necessary to prepare facilities for the constant fluctuation of events. •Develops visiting team guides for all assigned sports. •Supervises all assigned sports concession operations and budgets. •Oversight of all staff supporting home contests, interface with spectators, visiting teams, officials, outside vendors, and student workers (including work-study supervision). •Coordinate ticket office operations in conjunction with external relations. •Planning, coordinating, and executing RMAC Championships and NCAA Postseason tournaments and competitions hosted by FLC Athletics on and off campus. •Submits and processes all work orders for events, maintenance, and repairs. •Coordinates all in-game technical needs. •Research and analyze potential revenue generation and feasibility of hosting various community events on campus. •Foster collaboration with campus partners. Serve on campus, community, RMAC, and NCAA committees as requested. •Represents the Department of Athletics with internal and external agencies, both on and off campus. •Coordinates the ordering of general athletic apparel and merchandise. •Assists with removing snow and ice from athletic facilities as necessary. •Assists with facility enhancement and capital projects. •Performs Other Duties as Assigned.

Required Education, Specialized Skills, and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Two or more years of experience in college athletics or similar industry. Experience planning and facilitating large-scale events. Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evening and weekend hours. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and written skills. A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.

 

Preferred Education, Specialized Skills, and Experience:

Master’s degree in Sports Management or a related field. Experience supervising an event management staff. Experience as a student-athlete or coach.
