Healthcare/Fitness As part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and worldviews, Marian University is seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer to promote our Catholic Franciscan mission and identity by representing the candidates who will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, punctuality, and a desire to lead within the program. The Assistant Athletic Trainer will be expected to lead in developing and mentoring interns within the program. They may be assigned other administrative duties in assistance to the Head Athletic Trainer. The Assistant Athletic Trainer will report directly to the Head Athletic Trainer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Actively engage the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values and honoring the legacy of the founding congregation through transformative education, unity in diversity, leadership through service, integrating faith and life, and institutional policies. Daily health care of all student athletes (800+). Pre-participation requirements, evaluation, treatments, rehabilitation, immediate care. Assist with pre-practice and post-practice coverage of all sports. Assist with game/match coverage of all home contests. Assists the coordination with visiting medical staffs. Assist the coordination and implementation of all electronic medical record input (Health Roster) Assist in the compilation of all student athlete medical paperwork for eligibility. Assist weather assessment prior to and during events for storms and heat/cold issues. Assist in department education of nutrition and banned substances. Assist insurance coordination with student-athletes and BMI (Bob McCloskey Insurance). Assist in the coordination of physician services. Assist the coordination of plunge tub maintenance and daily monitoring. Assist the coordination of on-site vs. off-site contests.  Assist the supervision and education of various graduate level ATS (U-Indy, Franklin, Purdue). Assist regular maintenance and upkeep of all athletic training room equipment. Assist with inventory assessments and budget allotment. Travel as needed for post-season championship. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Possess current Indiana Athletic Trainer License. Possess NPI number/registration. Possess and maintain up to date CPR/AED/First Aid Certificate of Completion. Current possession of a Bachelor's or master's degree in athletic training or related field.
