Assistant Behavior Specialist, Sheppard Pratt School - Lanham, MD

Sheppard Pratt School in Lanham is a nonpublic special education day school providing educational, therapeutic, and daily living services to students ages 5-21. Our tailored programs cater to individuals with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disabilities, multiple disabilities, and other health impairments, ensuring each student receives the support they need to thrive. What to expect.

You will work under the supervision of a licensed behavior analyst to implement behavior intervention plans, collect data, and provide support to students with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges.

Specific responsibilities include:

Assisting in the development and implementation of individualized intervention plans (BIPs). Collecting and accurately recording data on client behavior during intervention sessions. Assisting in conducting functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and ongoing assessments to monitor progress. Providing training and support to caregivers and staff on behavior management techniques and intervention strategies. Participating in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, education and years and level of related experience.

What we need from you.

One of the following combinations of education and experience: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 1 year of related experience. Associate degree and 2 years of related experience. High school degree or GED and 4 years of related experience. Must meet Sheppard Pratt's requirements to operate a company vehicle: Be 18 years old with at least 2 years of driving experience. Have a valid driver's license. Driving record with 2 points or less for the 3 most recent years of driving history.
