RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The primary responsibilities of this role will be to assist the Refrigerated Meals and Proteins (RMP) team with management of projects across the Dinner and Lunchmeat portfolios. This position will also have management responsibilities over the Natural Choice portfolio.   

WIN WITH THE CONSUMER - Innovation:  Works closely with the RMP Brand Managers and Brand Fuel team to identify new product and line extension opportunities by analyzing consumer trends, determining specific market needs and potential, and building a business case. Manages development timelines and tactics related to these opportunities.  Supports innovation launch tactics. WIN WITH THE CUSTOMER – Sales Engagement & Support:  Works closely with the RMP Brand Managers and Retail Sales team to capitalize on growth potential with key customers. This includes extensive collaboration with Sales Strategy to help communicate to and engage the sales field to support the brand’s Strategic Roadmap, participating in customer sales calls to accomplish business objectives, assisting in addressing customer strategy/brand opportunities and challenges, monitoring marketplace dynamics and implementing corrective action when and where necessary, and collaborating with the Revenue Growth Management team to implement enhanced pricing & promotional strategies.  EXPAND PROFIT - Business Planning, P&L Management, Business Initiative Execution:  Plays a significant role by supporting the RMP Brand Managers and FP&A team in the development and execution of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP). Helps to establish business objectives, strategies, and tactics to attain AOP Volume, Net Sales, and Gross Profit. EXPAND PROFIT – Cost and Margin Leadership:  Supports Supply Chain team in the management of finished goods and supply inventories for RMP Portfolio. Leads and manages indirect cross-functional team members to accomplish projects that support brand initiatives and business needs. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

The level of position offered (Assistant Brand Manager or Associate Brand Manager) will be determined based on the candidate’s skill and experience level.

Required

A Bachelor’s degree. 1+ year of marketing, marketing-related, or sales experience. A pattern of initiative and success. Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills. The ability to work effectively in a team environment on a variety of complex projects. Strong analytical and time management skills. Highly developed interpersonal and organizational skills. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated creative thinking skills. Demonstrated aptitude and effectiveness in budget and financial management. Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States. Preferred

2+ years of marketing experience.  A MBA Experience in the consumer-packaged goods field.

 

LOCATION: Austin, MN

Pay Range & Benefits:

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range.  The base hiring pay range for this role is between $70,000 - $125,000 per year, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
