Assistant Buyer

We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven **Assistant Buyer** to join our dynamic merchandising team. In this role, you will oversee specific merchandise classifications and play a key role in driving sales and maximizing profitability. Core responsibilities include managing product data, maintaining and updating assortment plans and planograms, coordinating marketing initiatives, and serving as a primary point of contact for store and vendor communications. You will also support the analysis of merchandise performance and contribute to vendor meeting preparation. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment. **How You'll Make an Impact** + Assist Buyer with the preparation and analysis of merchandise reports, milestone meetings, and presentations (including OTB, hindsight, style-out, buy review, and go-to-market meetings). + Support the Buyer in product selection and the development of merchandise programs. + Create and communicate planograms and visual merchandising direction to stores. + Own the execution of all item setups, including product attributes, store assortments, pricing and cost updates, and providing images and copy for the web. + Provide support and research for issues raised by stores, cross-functional teams, and vendor partners (such as purchasing issues, product inquiries, vendor setup and compliance, invoice and cost discrepancies, etc.). + Track and facilitate special order requests from stores. + Partner with the Planning team on ordering needs, replenishment, volume cluster reporting, and store grouping strategies. + Coordinate with vendors to gather images and content for Marketing partners. + Additional responsibilities as required. **What You'll Need to Succeed** + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in retail, merchandising, or a related field + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel (including PivotTables and VLOOKUP); experience with Adobe Acrobat preferred + Familiarity with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and inventory management systems; skilled in managing vendor compliance and product data workflows + Strong computer skills with the ability to quickly learn and apply internal systems and tools + Highly organized with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities + Adept at managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment + Self-motivated, with a positive attitude and the ability to work effectively within a team **_Note: This is a hybrid role requiring in-office attendance three (3) days per week.
