Role description:

Arcadis are excited to again be growing their Nuclear team. We are looking for talented procurement professionals to join our team to work on a range of Nuclear projects across new build, decommissioning, defence and other emerging markets / technologies in the Nuclear space. You will be part of an industry-leading team, where you can apply your skills to national & international challenges across energy mega programmes & projects.

As part of our Cost Management team, you’ll be involved in a wide range of commissions from global and high profile to small and impactful, ensuring they’re to the delivered to the quality standard, on time, and to budget. Your expertise in sourcing strategy development, procurement planning, sourcing, and awarding supply chain appointments will drive growth and embrace smarter working.

The Assistant Category Manager (ACM) supports and contributes to the successful delivery of scope, schedule and cost by ensuring the optimum provision of bought-in goods, works, and services from the supply chain.  This will be against an assigned portfolio or programme / project. 

Whilst reporting to a Category Manager (CM), Snr Category Manager (SCM), or Associate Director (AD) the ACM supports procurement activities to meet the business needs of the assigned client commission. This will encompass all aspects of procurement and supply chain management on sophisticated and complex procurement exercises demanding a level of professional experience and competence, due to the nature of the operating and regulatory environment and strategic initiatives.

Arcadis are seeking flexible, dynamic individuals with UK Nationality required for UK National Security level to pass UKSV Security Clearance.  Supporting these highly challenging, interesting, and potentially rewarding programmes. 

Role accountabilities:

The role comprises:

responsibility for assigned aspects of procurement, supply chain management including strategy development, price analysis, negotiation, contract placement, contract management and close out associated within an assigned portfolio or programme/project.

The objective of the role is to:

support / contribute to the successful performance of the assigned portfolio, through the delivery of clients’ business objectives / contractual obligations, and the optimum provision of goods, works, and services from the supply chain for an assigned portfolio or programme/project in accordance with the identified procedures, policy, legislative, regulatory, environmental, safety and quality requirements.

Accountabilities:

To the CM / SCM / AD within the ACM assigned portfolio or programme/project for the execution of supply chain / commercial activity within defined, scope, schedule and cost: To establish, collate and conduct the initial analysis of forecasts of the demand requirements and ensure that individual procurement activities are effectively undertaken to meet the identified needs. To ensure contract and supply chain strategies are adhered to within their portfolio of service(s).  That commercial risks identified are managed and mitigated where possible. To protect the clients and Arcadis legal interests. To challenge demand requirements to ensure value for money sourcing. To effectively and professionally support the sourcing, negotiation, and award of contracts within the prescribed governance requirements. To assist in ensuring value added commercial and financial contract management techniques and controls are deployed on contracts through to contractual close-out. To assist in the maintenance of procurement activity records, reports and system data are completed accurately and to agreed timescales. To obtain, monitor and provide feedback on contractor/supplier performance against the contract(s) and where applicable build measures into contract improvement plans.      To ensure consistent application and implementation of supply chain / commercial policy and procedures. To assist the CM / SCM / AD in managing key stakeholder relationships, including regulatory and parent bodies of clients and other identified stakeholder issues relative to the assigned portfolio. To ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, including promoting a “safety culture” (both within Arcadis and the supply chain). To contribute proactively to delivery of significant and sustained improvements in the discharge of these accountabilities, by promoting, stimulating, and encouraging improvement processes. To promote open, non-discriminatory, equal treatment, and transparent competition throughout the supply chain and all procurements. To provide commercial support and advice to client internal teams within an assigned portfolio or programme/project.

Qualifications & Experience:

Arcadis is seeking procurement professionals with the following criteria.

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject &/or equivalent experience of at least three years. Ideally you will hold MCIPS or alternatively be working towards this with a CIPS qualification. Demonstrable experience utilising the NEC suite of contracts is essential. Experience of Capital Projects procurement in a regulated environment is essential. Ideally you will have demonstrable experience working in the Nuclear sector, however a background within other regulated environments will still be considered (i.e. Rail, Utilities, Water etc.). You should hold or be eligible for UKSV Clearance at Security Cleared level.
