Assistant Category Manager
Purpose and Scope/General Summary: We are looking for an Assistant Category Manager for JBS Global Procurement that is based on site at our corporate office in Greeley, Colorado.
Reporting to the Sr. Procurement Global Category Manager of Packaging and Food Ingredients, the Assistant Category Manager supports the sourcing and management of global Packaging. This role ensures all business requirements are included in category strategies. It is crucial in creating category strategies and directly supporting supplier identification, selection, and negotiation to ensure top service and quality in supply. The Assistant Category Manager will also build strong relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Support various Business Units and the Global procurement teams in the sourcing process to ensure category strategies and supplier selection conform to business requirements.Assist the Global Category Manager on Scenario Analysis and Contract ManagementCollaborate with cross functional teams, including Research and Development and Quality Assurance, to qualify materials and suppliers, identify value creation opportunities, and lead sourcing initiatives.Utilize internal and external market research analysis to optimize sourcing decisions and keep stakeholders informed of key market drivers.Assist in the development of risk mitigation strategies for critical supplies by developing backup supply options, price risk management and hedging strategies, and mitigate health and safety risksPerform spend analytics to identify savings opportunitiesOwn and manage supplier relationship and performance, resolve performance issues, pursue financial claims; conduct formal supplier performance reviews with key strategic suppliersOwn supplier contracting for all suppliers and development of master agreements for top suppliersOther duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Engineering or related field preferred3+ years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or related fields; prefer experience with Direct Materials Demonstrated ability to effectively interact in a cross-functional team environmentStrong analytical and critical thinking skillsEffective written and oral communications skillsUnderstanding of supply/commodity markets a plusHigh level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint and ExcelCan perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodationFluency in English required, and Spanish is preferredCan perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodationAs a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations. The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:
Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule; Base salary range of $70,000-$80,000; Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program; and Career Development: Our company is dedicated to supporting professional growth by offering continuous learning opportunities and a focus on career growth through various learning and development programs.
