Assistant Civil Engineer

Johnson Service Group is looking for an Assistant Civil Engineer for one of our Clients in San Jose. The Assistant Engineer would provide necessary support to the Project Manager on a Flood Protection Project (FPP).
Responsibilities:
Assist with engineering design tasks for final construction documents (PS&E) Provide QA/QC of construction documents, value engineering, real estate acquisition (TCE’s), permitting, CPRU coordination (Google and others), advertisement/bid for construction, and construction administration support for the FPP. Provide technical support in all phases of engineering projects including planning, design, construction, and close-out. Prepare engineering specifications, drawings, sketches, and other supporting documentation for proposed engineering projects; review drawings, plans, and other work submitted by external consultants, engineers, contractors, and developers for conformance with professional codes.
Qualifications:
Candidate shall have a civil engineering or related degree Or Possession of a valid California Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate with two (2) years of associated paraprofessional engineering experience, with preference given to an Engineer In Training working towards registration or Professional Engineering registration. 1 - 2+ years of professional engineering experience. Knowledge and experience using GIS, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Preference given to candidates who have completed formal AutoCAD/Civil 3D training. Knowledge and familiarity with preparing final construction documents (PS&E), design reports, technical memos, and preparing environmental/regulatory permits. Ability to conduct comprehensive engineering studies, investigations, and analyses. Rate starting at $44.00 DOE
