Job Description
The College of Nursing and Health Science (CONHS) at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC) invites application for a 9-month, fixed term Assistant Clinical Professor and Program Coordinator for the Medical Laboratory Science Program with a starting date of Summer 2025 or Fall 2025.
Requirements for this full-time 9-month position include a graduate degree in an appropriate field in medical laboratory science at the time of appointment, current national certification (ASCP) as a generalist in medical laboratory science, and at least three years of experience in MLS education and must be able to meet NAACLS qualifications for program directors.
The coordinator maintains the MLS program’s general effectiveness and NAACLS standards, develops affiliations and educational opportunities with regional health care institutions, and builds on the program’s existing strengths by leading the exploration of new teaching and service opportunities. The typical teaching load is 5/5 (3-credit courses per semester) with reassigned time as appropriate for the role of program coordinator. Required Qualifications
+ MS in appropriate field (i.e. science, MLS, MBA)
+ Current, national certification MLS(ASCP)CM
+ At least 3 years of MLS teaching experience and proven leadership
+ Demonstrated capacity to teach core medical laboratory science courses particularly in Microbiology, Immunohematology, and Immunology
Preferred Qualifications
+ Ph.D., Ed.D, DCLS
+ Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with community practice partners
+ Experience with NAACLS accreditation
+ Demonstrated experience with distance learning platforms, video conferencing tools, and innovative instructional technologies
+ Has knowledge of education methods and administration as well as current NAACLS accreditation procedures and certification procedures.
