Job Summary
This position will assist the Head Women’s Basketball Coach in running the Women’s Basketball program. Responsibilities include, recruiting potential student-athletes, practice preparation and coaching, analysis of film, game management and coaching and other administrative duties assigned by the Head Women's Basketball Coach.
Essential Functions
Develop skills of student-athletes through individual drills and sessions designed to improve overall player quality. Conduct practice preparation and coaching including film analysis, scouting of opponents, and on court coaching. Coordinate recruiting activities by organizing the recruiting database, communication with staff related to travel, focus of efforts, act as liaison to compliance and admissions offices, organizing visits and creating calendar of activities. As directed by the Associate or Head Coach, recruit potential student-athletes through extensive communication outreach, travel and evaluation of potential student-athletes. Serve as mentor to select student-athletes within the Women's Basketball program as directed by Head Coach. Ensure compliance with all University, CAA and NCAA rules and regulations as they pertain to the Women's Basketball program. Work effectively with administrators and support staff within the department of Athletics to ensure operations of Women's Basketball program comply with the direction of the Head Coach and department leadership. Perform related duties as assigned by the Head Women’s Basketball Coach or the Director of Athletics, such as alumni and community outreach, act as liaison to specific support areas (i.e. equipment, academic, strength & conditioning, marketing, compliance and communications).Required Qualifications
Minimum of Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience. Please review the Equivalency Chart for additional information. Minimum of 4 years coaching and recruiting at the collegiate level. Valid Driver's License. Ability to travel domestically and internationally. Ability to work evenings and weekends. Ability to teach the skills and strategies of basketball. Strong organization and communication skills.Required Qualifications
