BAT BANGLADESHIS LOOKING FOR AN ASSISTANT COMPLIANCE MANAGER - FINANCE

SENIORITY LEVEL: Mid-level Manager

FUNCTION: Finance

LOCATION: Dhaka

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

Monitoring Compliance:  Assist in monitoring and assessing the company’s adherence to legal, regulatory, and internal compliance requirements, including ensuring strict compliance with the Group’s policies and procedures.Keep track of industry developments and regulatory changes to ensure the organization stays compliant.

Implementing Compliance Programs:Help in the development, implementation, and enforcement of the company’s compliance policies and procedures.Participate in the identification and evaluation of potential compliance risks within the company’s operations and assist in developing strategies to mitigate these risks.Help prepare regular compliance reports for senior management, Board Audit Committee and Company Leadership Team.Assist in Conducting compliance training for employees to ensure they understand relevant regulations and internal standards.

Internal Audits and Investigations:Assist in conducting internal audits to evaluate compliance with regulations and company policies.Collaborate with external auditors by coordinating the audit process, providing necessary documentation, addressing inquiries, ensuring compliance with audit recommendations, and facilitating communication between internal teams and external auditors. Collaborate with the Group and Regional Compliance teams to ensure alignment on engagements with Business Controls Team and Group risk management, facilitating the implementation of compliance initiatives, monitoring adherence to policies, and supporting risk mitigation strategies across regions.Oversee and coordinate the timely submission of compliance exercises, ensuring accurate preparation and alignment with internal standards through effective collaboration with relevant teams.Support investigations into potential compliance violations and help implement corrective actions if needed.

Collaboration and Support:Collaborate with all departments in the company to address compliance concerns and ensure effective compliance management.Provide guidance and support to teams within the organization regarding compliance matters.

Monitoring External Compliance Regulations:Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations that could impact the organization.Ensure the company’s policies and practices align with changing regulations in the industry.

Managing Team:Provide mentorship to other team members and steer the team to continuously deliver value and results.Ensure appropriate level of knowledge transfer for new team members.

Business Partnering: Identify, assess, and where appropriate, implement efficiency improvements.Ensure business needs and relationships are fulfilled and enhanced through proactive involvement and interaction throughout the organization.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE

A bachelor’s degree in business, law, finance, accounting, or any related field from a recognized university.At least 3 years of experience in finance, compliance or risk management.Possess strong technical and interpersonal skills. The ability to work with all levels within the organization and experience in managing senior managers.Good communications skills with ability to explain and defend issues with respect to key decisions.Ability to establish priority within key deliverables.
