Assistant Construction Manager
Position Overview: The Assistant Construction Manager will assist the construction team by being the on-site presence for various construction projects. The position will be responsible for ensuring that subcontractors are on-site as scheduled and completing assigned work. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: + Sole person in supervision over the construction workers and responsible for their quality of work. + Schedules and coordinates meetings with subcontractors and vendors and assist in follow-up for requests of information. + Provide leadership and to establish and maintain effective and harmonious working relationships of the on-site staff and to promote positive project morale. + To assist the Project Manager and the in the development and refinement of the Project Schedule, and to work with the Project Manager to keep the schedules properly updated, and to see that the job meets the various required dates. + To examine the contract drawings, specifications and addenda for design deficiencies, impractical details, and possible code violations, and to bring these to the attention of the Project Manager who will review them with the Architect. + To coordinate, direct, monitor, and inspect the activities of the Subcontractors, Suppliers, and Delco's labor and material. + To verify that each Subcontractor has completed his contractual requirements as conditions precedent to beginning his work at the jobsite. This includes a Certificate of Insurance, a fully executed Subcontract, a Schedule of Values and a Safety Program. + To maintain good relations and communications with all involved in the project including the public. + Review all slips to ensure shipments are completed and maintains slips for Project Manager. + Creates written daily logs of construction project progress by performing site inspections. + Maintains a safe working environment by overseeing project safety awareness. + Any other duties as assigned by management on an “as needed” basis. Qualifications: + Experience with construction industry and working knowledge of construction budgets and scheduling strongly preferred, but not required. + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment as needed. + Must have strong problem-solving skills with an ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. + Proficiency with computer systems such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint required. + Ability to read blueprints and have an understanding of construction project cost analysis. + Exceptional organizational, analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills. + Strong time-management skills, ability to meet imposed deadlines and the ability to work flexible hours. + Valid Driver's License, Clean Driving Record, and Car Insurance in good standing are required for this position.
