About the role
The Assistant Control Room Operator (ACRO) will work under the supervision of the Shift Supervisor and the direction of the Control Room Operator. They will be responsible for the operation and inspection of various systems and equipment as assigned.
Key Responsibilities: Safe and efficient operation of their assigned equipment in accordance with the established plant operating procedures.Responsible for recording and monitoring data, reporting equipment malfunctions or trends, and suggest reaction plans.Become proficient in identifying and communicating abnormal operating conditions, upset conditions, or emergency situations.Ability to demonstrate how your actions support Reworld Values and Behaviors, including Safe and Inclusive Workplace, Delivering Results through Trust and Building Breakthrough Capabilities.Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, technical procedures, operating and maintenance instructions, and other procedure manuals.Ability to speak and communicate effectively with supervisors and other employees of the organization.Take appropriate safe action on their own initiative to prevent equipment damage or injury to personnel during emergencies or unusual situations; demonstrates ability to apply and teach Reworld’s safety rules.Log Plant conditions and operational upsets in detail.Apply Reworld’s values while directing team members.Qualifications:High School Diploma/GED is required.Experience as an Auxiliary Operator in a refuse to energy facility.Formal technical or apprentice training is desirable, or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.Ability to demonstrate how your actions support Reworld Values and Behaviors, including Safe and Inclusive Workplace, Delivering Results through Trust and Building Breakthrough Capabilities.Ability to acquire ASME QRO certification (Certification for Municipal Solid Waste Combustion Facilities Operator)Physical Demands:Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climbAbility to lift/carry 50lbsAbility to work from heights and in confined spacesQualify to wear a full-face respirator Consistently work in various weather conditionsShift Work:This position works on a rotating 12-hour shift including weekends and some holidays. Overtime will be required.
