**Description**
PCSI is looking for an Assistant Controller to support and lead our Corporate Accounting team. The Assistant Controller oversees PCSI's accounting function and accounting staff, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting. This position maintains internal systems and controls and provides key support on compliance audit activity. The Assistant Controller directly supervises several Accounting staff members and collaborates heavily with members of the wider Finance team and other departments on special projects.
We're looking for an adept communicator to bring leadership experience and strong accounting and finance knowledge to the team. This position reports to the Controller and works out of our Corporate office in **south A** **ustin, TX.**

**What You'll Do as Assistant Controller:**
+ Assist with the oversight and activities of the Corporate Accounting Function.
+ Oversee the financial reporting for the Corporation in accordance with GAAP. This encompasses the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports, including but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements.
+ Oversee corporate acquisitions and disbursement activities, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of purchase orders, accounts payable, purchase card cycle, petty cash, employee expense reimbursement, fixed assets, corporate leases and subcontract activity.
+ Oversee the activities of the Accounts Receivable functions to ensure the accurate and timely management of all Accounts Receivable aging components including revenue recognition, cash receipts application, bank reconciliation and coordination with those responsible for invoicing.
+ Coordinate/monitor the activities of our Service Provider who provides company-wide payroll, time, and labor management services.
+ Provide extensive audit support for both internal and external audit activity.
+ Work closely with other corporate departments providing research and functional support when necessary.
+ Assure timely and accurate compliance with all governmental reporting requirements.
+ Establish and maintain systems and controls which verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data.
+ Achieve budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
+ Provide status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
+ Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
+ Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipate future legislation; enforce adherence to requirements; file financial reports; advise management on needed actions.
+ Assist the Controller as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate financial needs.
+ Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
+ Communicate with co-workers, management, customers and others in a courteous and professional manner.
+ Ensure operation of equipment by establishing preventive maintenance requirements and service contracts; maintain equipment inventories; evaluate new equipment and techniques.
+ Complete operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; follow up on work results.
+ Maintain financial staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
+ Coach, counsel, and discipline employees as needed.

**What You'll Need:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required, or equivalent combination education and experience.
+ Minimum seven (7) years of hands-on accounting experience, to include four (4) years of experience in a supervisory or management role.
+ CPA Certification preferred.
+ UKG and Unanet experience preferred.
+ Experience in government service contracting is preferred.
+ Working knowledge of GAAP, government and military contracting, and federal acquisition regulations (FAR) is preferred.
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:**
+ Requires knowledge of Windows PC functions and software.
+ Advanced knowledge and operation of Microsoft Excel.
+ Strong general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable experience.
+ In-depth experience working with computerized accounting software and spreadsheets.
+ Software conversion experience.
+ Good project management skills.
+ Advanced written and oral communication skills.
+ Highly self-motivated and directed.
+ Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
+ Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
+ Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
+ Ability to communicate and influence at a senior level.
+ Detail oriented with high level of accuracy and organizational skill.
+ Willingness to continue learning.
**Other Requirements:**
+ Ability to pass criminal, drug, financial, and driving screening.
+ May need to have the ability to legally drive a company vehicle.
+ Ability to exchange accurate information in person and over the phone.
+ Occasional travel may be required, up to 10%.
