Assistant Controller
Description Our client is looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to oversee financial operations in Los Angeles, California. This role encompasses a diverse range of responsibilities including managing multi-division financial activities while leading a dedicated team of professionals. Responsibilities: • Ensure that financial reporting is accurate and complete as required • Instil and ensure a strong internal control environment that protects the assets and resources of our organization. Provide all stakeholders timely and accurate financial statements. • Directly manage and support the finance division employees. Review and implement opportunities for improved efficiencies and/or internal controls (through technology, best practices, etc.) • Assist in development of the Annual Business Plan, Financial and Capital Budgets • Help lead and drive the Monthly P& L and Financial Statement preparation • Prepare monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliation in a timely and accurate manner • Provide support for Annual audits • Monthly reconciliation of the capital purchases, approved projects in progress, and future planning for projects to come • Verify the accuracy and quantity of work produced on a daily, weekly, monthly basis for all areas of Accounting Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. • Minimum of 7 years of experience with 2 in financial management, preferably within the hospitality industry. • Strong expertise in month-end close procedures and financial reporting. • Proven ability to supervise and lead teams effectively. • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data. • Exceptional communication skills to work collaboratively across departments.
