Description Robert Half is partnering with a manufacturing client in Northeast Iowa in hiring a dedicated and experienced Assistant Controller. In this role, you will oversee key accounting operations, mentor team members, and drive process improvements within a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: • Lead and mentor accounting team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. • Oversee and ensure the accuracy of month-end close processes and reconciliations. • Develop and maintain strong financial controls to ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements. • Identify opportunities for process automation and implement scalable improvements to enhance efficiency. • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve internal controls and streamline operational policies. • Support the organization during audits by coordinating with internal and external auditors. • Standardize workflows and document processes to support growth and operational excellence. • Manage the balance sheet, ensuring accurate reconciliations and financial data integrity. • Stay updated on regulatory changes and refine accounting policies to meet evolving needs. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with a preference for advanced qualifications. • A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, including leadership or mentoring roles. • Proficiency in using large-scale accounting systems (ERP) • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to develop and guide emerging managers. • Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking abilities to solve complex accounting challenges. • Advanced knowledge of US GAAP • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
