Description
We are looking for a highly skilled "hands-on" Assistant Controller to join our team in Walnut Creek, California. This Contract to permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to oversee complex financial operations and contribute to the smooth functioning of our accounting department. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of financial systems, payroll management, and reconciliation processes while working collaboratively across departments.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage financial operations, including reconciliations, payroll processing, and financial reporting.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness in processing payroll for a diverse workforce, including doctors and support staff with varying pay structures.
• Utilize QuickBooks Online and ADP payroll systems to manage financial transactions and employee compensation.
• Collaborate with other departments to streamline accounting processes and enhance cross-functional communication.
• Prepare and review profit and loss statements, trial balances, and other key financial reports.
• Lead accounting operations and provide support to the Controller in decision-making and strategic planning.
• Handle accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring accurate and efficient processing.
• Conduct audits to maintain compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
• Support the Controller in analyzing financial data and providing insights to drive business growth.
Requirements • Proven experience in a similar role with advanced accounting and financial skills.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and ADP payroll systems.
• Strong understanding of payroll processes, including handling multiple entities and complex pay structures.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare and analyze financial statements, trial balances, and reconciliations.
• Experience working in a private practice or similar environment is highly desirable.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to work proactively across departments.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle complex financial operations with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and auditing.
