Description Our trusted client is seeking an Assistant Controller Consultant for a long-term engagement in Detroit, Michigan. This interim position requires a highly organized individual with a strong background in accounting operations and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in managing payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end closing activities. The day-to-day responsibilities include: • Perform accurate account reconciliations, including bank and balance sheet reconciliations. • Manage payroll processes, including posting journal entries and ensuring timely payments. • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including vendor payments and receipt postings. • Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure compliance with accounting standards. • Execute month-end close procedures, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded. • Post journal entries and manage general ledger operations effectively. • Access and navigate bank portals to make payments and manage transactions. • Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and resolve discrepancies. • Maintain accurate records and documentation for audit purposes. Requirements The ideal candidate will have the following skill set: • Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or financial management. • Proficiency in account reconciliation, including bank and balance sheet reconciliations. • Strong knowledge of general ledger operations and journal entries. • Expertise in payroll processing and month-end close activities. • Familiarity with accounting software • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting. • Ability to manage accounts payable and receivable functions efficiently. • Excellent organizational and communication skills to work effectively in a team environment.
