ResponsibilitiesThe assistant controller is primarily responsible for financial statement and report preparation for all corporate entities. The assistant controller is also responsible for management and control of the general accounting, payroll, and accounts payable sections. The assistant controller will successfully manage the department ensuring that procedures are followed and internal controls are in place.
Be able to direct, control, and supervise the activities of the general accounting department, including payroll and accounts payable.Possess technical and professional accounting skills, the ability to develop financial and other operational systems, and familiarity with data processing and personal computer capabilities and procedures.Be able to schedule, meet, and maintain daily and monthly routines, assign personnel, and maintain integrity of records.Oversee activities of the Accounting department for accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including but not limited to internal and external monthly financial statements, annual audits and annual budgets.Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field requiredFive to seven years of accounting experience is required, of which one year should be in a supervisory position.Two to three years of directly related experience in the healthcare field is preferred.Have oral and written communications ability sufficient to train and supervise staff and interact with other departments.Possess strong analytical and problem solving skills.Strong spreadsheet and word processing skills required.PowerPoint skills preferred.Excellent organizational, communication, and judgment skills. Be able to deal with other departments to resolve problems and ensure problem scheduling and accuracy of financial information. Hospital Description
