Job Description:
The Mars Wrigley North America Assistant Controller is a critical role within our North American Controllership team, responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial statements. This position supports timely financial close processes, implements new accounting standards, and collaborates with both internal and external audit teams to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency. The role requires a deep understanding of accounting under U.S. GAAP, expertise in technical accounting, and experience in the Consumer Product Goods (CPG) industry.

Deep understanding of accounting under U.S. GAAP and Internal Controls Expertise in technical accounting with experience in the Consumer Product Goods (CPG) industry Proven track record of ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial statements with prior experience in business performance reviews and financial close processes and working with shared service centers Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deliver challenging feedback and drive change Experience in implementing new accounting standards and ensuring compliance with Finance Manual guidelines Leadership experience in guiding and mentoring accounting and reporting associatesWhat will be your key responsibilities?Technical Accounting: Provide expertise and guidance on technical accounting issues, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and company policies. You will oversee the review and determination of appropriate accounting treatment for new contractual agreements, leases, and business arrangements and perform initial review over technical accounting consultationsFinancial Close Processes: Ensure timely delivery and accuracy of period close financials and submissions, supporting period, quarter, and year-end activitiesInternal Controls and Process Improvement: Develop and maintain robust internal controls. You will also need to provide valuable insights to improve financial processes, driving efficiency and effectivenessAudit Collaboration: Work with external and internal audit teams to ensure an efficient and effective audit processEducation & Professional Qualification University degree in Accounting or Finance (Required) Graduate level degree (Preferred) CPA or other professional certification (Required) Must have at least 8 years of experience in a corporate environment and/or public accounting firm.
