Assistant Controller
Description We are offering a contract for a permanent position as an Assistant Controller in the transport industry, located in DUNKIRK, New York. As an Assistant Controller, you will be overseeing a team of accounting specialists and will be responsible for managing various accounting functions. This role is open to the possibility of remote work, depending on the candidate's experience with specific software. Responsibilities: • Oversee a team of accounting specialists and manage their performance • Utilize QuickBooks and McLeod software for various accounting tasks • Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and ledger account analysis • Manage accounts receivable and payable, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and processed • Handle general ledger system and ensure its accuracy and efficiency • Utilize ADP - Financial Services for relevant tasks • Perform auditing tasks to ensure financial compliance • Process billing functions accurately and efficiently • Leverage your experience in the logistics industry to manage accounting functions effectively • Perform other related duties as required. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role within the transport industry • Proficient in Accounting Software Systems • Experience with ADP - Financial Services is beneficial • Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions • Proficiency in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) • Demonstrated experience in Auditing • Familiarity with Billing Functions • Proficiency in Quickbooks Online and QuickBooks • Experience in managing General Ledger and General Ledger Systems • Proficient in Ledger Account Analysis • Experience in Balance Sheet Reconciliation • Proficient in Bank Account Reconciliation • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is preferred.
