The Role: As the Assistant Controller, you’ll manage and mentor a team of 15+ accounting professionals while improving processes and driving efficiencies within the accounting function. Working closely with senior leadership, this role offers significant exposure to executive decision-making, as well as opportunities to oversee critical financial initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Lead the accounting team, including managing monthly close processes and financial statement preparation. Oversee compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and external audits. Collaborate with the FP& A team to provide financial analysis and support business growth initiatives. Help integrate acquisitions into the company’s financial systems and reporting frameworks. Drive continuous process improvement projects to streamline workflows and enhance team productivity. Act as a strategic partner to the Controller, CFO, and other senior executives, preparing for a seamless transition to the Controller role. Requirements + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. + CPA designation strongly preferred. + 7+ years of progressive accounting and management experience. + Proven success in leading teams of 10+ professionals. + Public accounting (Big 4 or regional firm) experience is a major plus. + Experience with mergers, acquisitions, and integrating financial systems is preferred. + Strong leadership, communication, and process improvement skills. + Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel knowledge is required.
