Assistant Controller
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Controller in Jacksonville, Florida. This role is integral to our team, focusing on the management of accounting operations, including the production of financial reports and statements, and the establishment and enforcement of financial controls and procedures. Responsibilities: • Overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, deposits, payroll, bank reconciliations, and journal entries. • Ensuring the timely and accurate completion of the monthly and annual end close process. • Contributing to the development and maintenance of accounting policies and processes, ensuring 100% compliance. • Assisting in the design and production of financial reporting, transforming data into actionable information. • Collaborating with the VP Finance to enhance financial reporting that creates value and meets business needs. • Directing and developing staff, coordinating workflow to maximize efficiency and optimize resource utilization. • Preparing special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing variances and trends. • Monitoring and confirming financial condition through audits, providing information to external advisers. • Establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures to protect assets. • Acting as liaison between the Accounting Department and the External Audit Team, ensuring reconciliations and account analysis are available as promised. • Developing job cost reports to enable land team to track status of jobs relative to commitments and budgets. • Supporting the budgeting and forecasting processes, activities, and deliverables. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role or related field • Proficiency in General Ledger • Experience with Month End Close processes • Demonstrated ability to perform Account Reconciliation • Experience with Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation • Proven skills in Financial Statement Preparation • Ability to conduct Variance Analysis • Knowledge of Financial Control procedures • Experience in Job Cost accounting Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
