Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Assistant Controller in the financial services industry, located in Hartford, Connecticut. This role primarily focuses on the efficient handling of accounting software systems as well as maintaining partnership returns. Responsibilities: • Oversee the utilization of various accounting software systems to streamline financial operations. • Month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliation, reporting. • Maintain and manage partnership return records, ensuring all data is accurate and up-to-date. Requirements • Candidate should hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Demonstrated experience in the role of Assistant Controller or similar is essential. • Solid understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulations. • Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting, etc.). • Understanding of data analysis and forecasting. • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and financial management software, such as SAP. • The ability to strategize and solve problems promptly. • An analytical mind with a strong attention to detail. • Exceptional organizational and leadership skills. • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification is a plus. • Experience with Partnership Returns is required. • A detail-oriented manner, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. • Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data.
