Job Summary

Langan is seeking an Assistant Controller to join its collaborative team in Parsippany, NJ. This individual will serve a key function in providing day-to-day accounting services including preparation of journal entries, account analysis, bank reconciliations, assistance with compiling operational financial reports and daily accounts receivable management. In this role, you will have the opportunity to impact special accounting projects that support firm leadership and drive operational success.

Job Responsibilities Assists the controller in the direction of the accounting functions of the organization; Oversees and assists with the company’s monthly, quarterly and annual financial closes, including preparation of monthly financial packages and compilation of quarterly contribution report; Prepares the annual operating and capital budgets; Prevents inaccuracies in financial statements by setting up internal controls and adopting proper policies for financial reporting; Managers the annual financial audit, working closely with the external auditors to ensure the field work is completed and financial statements are finalized timely; Manages the General Accounting, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams; Works closely with the Operations Controller on monthly revenue reporting, close out of invoices and accounts receivable tracking; Provides support for tracking of all company leases, ensuring that new and amended lease documents are provided to the third party provider managing the company’s lease database; and Performs other duties as requested. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA or MBA a plus; 8+ years of experience in an Accounting department, with 3+ years in a management role; Knowledge of monthly accounting close procedures, financial reporting, compilation of budgets, internal controls and managing a team of professionals; Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook required; knowledge of Deltek Vision software preferred; Ability to train, motivate, and manage staff members; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities; and Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment.
