Under general supervision, this position is responsible for working with high-level business leaders to provide consultation and general legal advice on strategic legal affairs, with an emphasis on data privacy, cybersecurity, data governance, and artificial intelligence, including providing foresight and protection for the Company against legal risks.Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including business leaders, on a wide variety of legal matters, including risk and control issues; provide support on commercial concerns, negotiations, and regulatory issues across a broad range of legal subjects
• Manage and mitigate legal risks by drafting company policies and procedures and providing guidance to business leaders for effective implementation of such policies and procedures
• Review organizational business practices to ensure compliance with legal requirements and the industry's concepts, practices, and procedures
• Research and continuously learn in order to stay abreast of current and evolving laws and regulations applicable to the Company and industry
• Review and summarize complex statutes, regulations, and case law and provide clear advice as to Company obligations and interpretation of source documents as they relate to a variety of legal topics relating to the business sector and the company’s products and services
• Draft internal executive memoranda that clearly and concisely summarize complex legal issues and business risks
• Design and assist with delivering legal training to internal staff and business leaders
• Use legal knowledge, independent judgment, and creativity to recommend alternative solutions for legal issues
• Investigate claims and analyze potential legal issues
• Occasionally communicate with external legal counsel
• Provide guidance to law student externs
• Partner with internal teams to recommend changes to marketing and survey content for internal and external distribution to mitigate legal risk
Work closely with internal data privacy and governance teams on various privacy and information technology matters, including attending weekly meetings, reviewing and drafting cybersecurity and privacy-related provisions and agreements, and assisting with privacy impact assessments, data subject access requests, and data governance processes
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school with at least 2 years of relevant experience. Licensed to practice law (and in good standing) in at least one jurisdiction in the United States
Preferred Qualifications:

Compensation:
Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
