Assistant Director, Financial Aid 🔍 Georgia - Dekalb - Clarkston (https://careers.georgia.gov/jobs/64316/other-jobs-matching/location-only) Hot 📁 (https://careers.georgia.gov/landingpages/education-opportunities-at-team-georgia-11) Education 💼 Georgia Piedmont Technical College - GPTC 📅    Jan 14, 2025 Post Date Apply for Job Share this Job Sign Up for Job Alerts + Assists the Director in the day-to-day operations of the Financial Aid Department; including but not limited to daily Banner processing. + Provides information to prospective and enrolled students concerning state and federal financial assistance and technical college policy/procedures. + Assists with supervising full-time, part-time and student employees. + Responsible for strong focus on customer service to include the ability to diffuse potentially volatile situations while meeting customer expectation for assistance. + Responds to and advises student aid inquiries in person, by phone and written communication to students, staff and the general public in a courteous and professional manner. + Thoroughly provides guidance to students, staff and the general public on the availability of financial aid, the regulatory requirements associated with the availability and the application process. + Assists with interviewing, hiring, and evaluation of the performance of, and when necessary, discipline of employees. + Observes and reviews for accuracy and completeness of appropriate documentation/forms/processes/procedures. + Assists staff by providing systematic Banner support or reports as requested. + May be asked to serve as consultant to management on specific problems and concerns. + Interprets and utilizes federal, state and local policies and procedures. + Maintains accurate files/records, creates and maintains written procedures. + Participates in the planning, coordination, development and implementation of long-range goals and objectives. + Serves on committees as assigned. + Maintains current knowledge of TCSG operations and policies, federal and state student financial assistance programs and laws governing Georgia's technical colleges. + Creates and maintains a high-performance environment characterized by positive leadership, strong team orientation and strong focus on customer service. + Displays a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness, professional ethics and responsible behavior. + Shows persistence and seeks alternatives when obstacles arise; conveys forethought to potential issues and provides suggestions to remedy such concerns. + Works within the system in a resourceful manner to accomplish reasonable work goals; shows flexibility in response to process change and adapts to and accommodates new methods and procedures. + Performs other duties as assigned in the fulfillment of the needs, philosophy, and purpose of Georgia Piedmont Technical College. Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university *and* Two (2) years of work related experience.
