PURPOSE OF JOB:The Assistant Director of Radiology will lead a team of talented and dedicated Veterinary Radiologists in their current assignments, mentor and train new staff, and contribute to career development of the Radiologists they supervise. This individual will serve as a leader, innovator, and team player. The Assistant Director will be responsible for supervision of a given sub-section of radiology staff and contractors seek an individual dedicated to innovative and outside of the box thinking, specifically with a keen eye for improvement in the day to day life of our radiologists and clients which may include educational activities, artificial intelligence, and/or system/process advancements. The Assistant Director of Radiology will report directly to the Chief Radiologist.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Aide in the recruitment of boarded radiologists working with Talent Acquisition and Chief Radiologist
Manage a team of staff Radiologists, responsible for performance standards of it in relation to quality, efficiency and productivity including Associate performance evaluations.
Responsible for onboarding and training new radiologists .
Remotely reviewing, evaluating and interpreting radiographs, ultrasound, MRI, CT, and other diagnostic images submitted digitally .
Serve as the first point of contact for concerns or complaints from staff radiologists and/or DVMs and newly onboarded hospitals in partnership with Quality Control and Chief Radiologist.
Aid in managing quality control globally, working with Director of Quality Control.
Aid in scheduling decisions for radiologists, working with the Scheduling Coordinator.
Work closely with other operational support departments such as IT, P&O, Technical Support, Commercial and Marketing.
Collaborative communications with colleagues through the AIS Hive via Skype.
Consult with clients and other veterinary professionals through Skype, phone and email
Be involved in regular AIS clinic rounds, journal club, employee meetings and professional enrichment which are held in an on-line format.
Participate in applicable CE allowing applicants to stay current on new theories, diagnostic approaches and available treatments.
Maintain proficiency in clinical diagnostic skills
Participate in enterprise initiatives, special projects.
Travel as needed (e.g. ACVR, EVDI, VetMeet, IVRA, EVDI BID).
Assist in other duties as assigned, relevant to Antech Imaging Services.
Education and Experience:Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree or equivalent
Diplomat of American College of Veterinary Radiology or European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging
Must be licensed to practice veterinary medicine in respective state or country
Fluency in English
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The ability to work effectively remotely with minimal supervision
Previous experience with Dragon software a plus.
Previous experience with Dicom viewers desirable
