The Assistant Director will be responsible for all military outreach, partnerships, and on-ground recruiting and event attendance. They will regularly analyze data and conduct research to identify best fit potential partners and audiences and stay up to date on market trends. They will travel to military bases, educational fairs, and other events to represent all academic programs in the College. Acting as an account manager, this role will support the development of strategic engagement and marketing plans (in partnership with University Communications and Marketing – UCM) for military audiences, oversee and manage a portfolio of military bases and veteran services organizations, build relationships with C-level and upper-level-members of military installations and veteran service organizations.
The Assistant Director will also provide administrative support for the college partnerships team as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities: Military Engagement & Recruitment: Develop and execute comprehensive outreach programs targeting military veterans, active-duty service members, and veteran support organizations to increase the military population for all CPS Programs. Engage military installations and veteran service organizations through relationship building, site visits, webinars, presentations, and other forms of outreach for all College Programs. Build and maintain strong, reciprocal relationships with veteran communities, government agencies, veteran service organizations (VSOs), and military installations. Contribute to communications and marketing plans designed to reach miliary audiences through email, text, social media, print materials and marketing campaigns, in alignment with UCM team. Prepare presentations, webinars, and content to be presented to military installations and veteran partner contacts and students on Villanova University programs and services. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of outreach efforts, collecting feedback and data to inform program enhancements. Prepare annual reports of activities for internal and external audiences as needed. Represent Villanova at appropriate conferences, participating in seminars/forums etc. Host onsite events as/if appropriate. Maintain a working knowledge of the Department of Veterans Affairs current policies, regulations, and procedures as well as government policies, federal mandates, and education codes. Deliver information on policies and procedures of admissions, financial aid, and education benefits through both in-person and virtual modalities to prospective students, in partnership with University offices.
Government Partnerships: Serve as Villanova’s liaison with the Federal Academic Alliance (FAA). Participate in all planning calls with FAA. Coordinate engagement opportunities on behalf of the College. Liaise with University partners as needed. Attend all events. Develop regular reporting cadences and compile annual report for the Office of Personnel Management (OPM). Develop new outreach efforts with federal, state, and local government entities to promote educational offerings. Represent Villanova at appropriate conferences, participating in seminars/forums etc. Host onsite events as/if appropriate.
Team Support: Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, foster collaboration across departments, and promote transparency. Provide administrative support for outreach and partnership events and activities as needed. Perform additional duties and assist with special projects as assigned. Participate in events with CPS on occasional nights and weekends.
Minimum Qualifications: Formal Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
Work Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of relevant and applicable work experience in a professional environment.
Work Skills (e.g., written and verbal communication skills): Candidate must have strong organizational, time management and relationship management skills with demonstrated ability to work as a team player. Results oriented individual who can anticipate and identify problems and opportunities and take decisive action to proactively address them. Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required. Must communicate professionally and efficiently within a fast-paced environment. Strong intuitive technological capabilities, with proficiency in all standard computer applications, including Microsoft office products, extremely proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Specific Job Knowledge: Previous sales and outreach experience or transferrable skills. Experience in marketing and communications. Must have strong understanding of CPS programs, and exceptional customer service orientation. Ability to build relationships with professionals of all backgrounds. Must have strong communication skills and be a strong brand ambassador. Must have experience managing projects, deadines, and priorities. Must be able to make decisions in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities across the College’s programs.
Equipment Knowledge: Computers and all related programs used by the University.
