The Assistant Director, Strategic Philanthropic Partnerships is a unique position that works closely with the Senior Director, Strategic Philanthropic Partnerships to build a new team within the Division of Philanthropy that will sustain and amplify existing key strategic philanthropic partners, and identify, grow, and manage new strategic relationships to advance and achieve Institute and Division goals. The Assistant Director will work closely with the Institute’s largest donor, the Pan-Mass Challenge to maximize the value and effectiveness of the working relationship and identify and implement opportunities for growth. 

  

The onboarding of this role will include a comprehensive training process which includes completion of online modules, shadowing colleagues, as well as hands-on learning experiences throughout the first calendar year in the role.

This position is considered remote, 0-1 days onsite at 10 Brookline Place, Brookline, MA each week. DFCI guidelines state that employees must reside in New England: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, or Vermont.

Responsibilities Oversee and manage the ongoing relationship with the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) and its fundraisers, including coordination of Dana-Farber marketing and PR resources, annual impact reporting, creation and implementation of a team visit program, development of a DFCI staff rider and volunteer recruitment initiative, and management of designated fund allocations from the PMC; Work closely with PMC fundraisers, team captains, and DFCI investigators and physicians to streamline the effective sharing of information for designated funds; Manage the PMC budget and interface with the Chief Financial Officer, PMC to oversee vendor contracts, pay invoices, and reconcile expenses; Partner with and build strong relationships with colleagues across business units to identify opportunities to expand and amplify existing relationships; Research new opportunities for partnerships, including identification of potential organizations and benchmarking with peers; Support the Senior Director in the development and creation of proposals, presentations, written materials, correspondence, charts, and reports; Assume other duties as necessary.

Bachelor’s degree required plus minimum 4 years of relevant work experience.
