Job Summary

This position directs the day-to-day student-related operations for pre-college and undergraduate students enrolled in Summer Session primarily for credit and remote programs. An essential objective of this role is to shape and implement policies and procedures regarding admissions, including scholarship awards; communications with students and parents, including maintaining the Summer Session website; managing the online application, student support, and all other student services related aspects of Summer Session programming; and delegating tasks to support staff where appropriate. The incumbent acts as the lead on all logistical and technical details related to the admissions process, working closely with eTech and the Office of College Admissions, and serves as the primary reviewer of pre-college student qualifications during the application process. This role also serves as the pre-college academic advisor and coordinates student services together with appropriate campus resources. 

Responsibilities

Develops and implements student-related policies and procedures for a complex and constantly evolving portfolio of programs, including remote, residential, one and two-week, and multi-week programs for pre-college and undergraduate students, with an eye toward optimization.Ensures accuracy in all student-related processes and record-keeping.Recommends policy changes as needed in response to new programs and evolving circumstances.Serves as Slate CRM lead, reviewing and revising application and associated queries and forms, keeping abreast of new functions in Slate and how they might be used to program advantage, and troubleshooting issues as needed.Develops and oversees admissions processes, workflow, and timelines.Monitors, reports on, and analyzes admissions data regularly, recommending action where appropriate regarding course/program capacity, outreach strategies, and timelines.Acts as a primary admissions reader for pre-college programs, making decisions regarding admissions, financial aid awards, and course placement.Develops and implements financial aid awards process for pre-college students, including tracking funds allotted, determining student eligibility, reporting on outcomes, and making budgetary recommendations.Develops communications streams for students and parents about key decisions, information, and policies, including online information sessions for prospective and incoming students and their families.Maintains the Summer Session website, conducting an annual review in consultation with the Director of Academic Programs, and revising where necessary.Serves as point of contact for students and parents, including functioning as pre-college academic advisor.Liaison with key partners on campus such as IT Services, Student Wellness, and Student Disability Services to help shape policies and advocate on behalf of student needs.Sets and communicates program priorities and performance standards and assesses operations using these criteria. Plans and conducts quality assurance reviews and recommends changes as appropriate.Analyzes program budgets and recommends or makes budgetary recommendations.Performs other related work as needed.


Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.


Work Experience:

Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

Education:

Master's degree or a comparable advanced degree.

Experience: 

A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience working in a higher education setting, or similar experience.Background in selective admissions, advising, program development, or a related area.

Technical Skills or Knowledge:

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.Proficiency with Slate strongly preferred.Demonstrated ability to master database programs and learn new technologies.

Working Conditions
