Assistant Director
Job Description:KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
In this role, you will partner with the Director of Talent Acquisition and Onboarding to collaborate closely with leadership on development and execution of strategic goals, compliance management, creating policies and guidelines, and driving innovative initiatives that align with and support the University's mission. Some key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Partnering with the Director to design and implement strategies to attract top talent, improve recruitment efforts, and enhance UF’s position as the employer of choice. Lead the development of strategic goals and initiatives. Overseeing post-offer and pre-employment processes, including health assessments and criminal background checks. Ensure compliance with Florida Statute 435 for caregiver positions, review criminal backgrounds, and communicate eligibility decisions. Directing immigration processes; working closely with departments on employer-based sponsorship and international employment matters; and minimizing risks and ensuring compliance with relevant legal requirements. Collecting data, analyzing current practices, recommending process improvements, ensuring compliance with legal reporting regulations and maintaining accurate metrics. Representing UFHR on various committees, at job fairs and community events, working closely with Training and Organizational Development to develop content and facilitate relevant training and courses. Preferred Qualifications: The ability to foster consensus, promote shared governance, actively seek input from diverse groups, and influence others when seeking resolution. The ability to clarify and articulate direction, priorities, and a shared vision. Strong understanding of employment laws related to pre-employment screenings to include but not be limited to Level 2, Level 2 DCF Screenings, criminal checks and FCRA. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively across departments and drive strategic initiatives.
