The University at Albany is hiring an Assistant Director: Community Health Assessment & Evaluation within the new Office of Health Promotion, which is part of the Well-Being Cluster of Student Affairs. The University is proud to be part of the first cohort of institutions in the United States to adopt the Okanagan Charter, and this new office has been tasked with leadership in guiding the implementation of the Charter as it builds a foundation for health promotion at the institution using public health approaches and a salutogenic lens.
The incumbent in this position will have a unique opportunity to help craft an institutional vision and strategy for health promotion through robust assessment and evaluation while providing leadership within the institutional efforts to implement the Okanagan Charter.
Primary Responsibilities:
+ Serve in a leadership capacity on the Steering Committee of the Well-Being Collective, which is tasked with implementing the Okanagan Charter, and provide administrative leadership of various working groups.
+ Collaborate with members of the Well-Being Collective to develop and implement assessment and evaluation strategies related to implementing the Okanagan Charter.
+ Develop, implement, and evaluate the Spring Health Survey each year. Collaborate with various schools and departments in the survey design and dissemination and meaning making of results.
+ Support campus partners in developing Key Performance Indicators related to the Okanagan Charter, and serve as the central hub of data generation, storage, and analysis for all health-related evaluation and assessment efforts.
+ Drive mixed methods assessment of campus health and related experiences for the University; Design, implement, and evaluate iterative and participatory structures of data collection and analysis on campus.
+ Contribute to the leadership team within the Office of Health Promotion and support the growth of the work of the entire team throughout the UAlbany community.

Functional and Supervisory Relationships:
+ Reports to the Director of the Office of Health Promotion
+ May supervise employees as assigned (if no direct reports at time of filling position): Graduate interns and/or undergraduate student assistants as appropriate
Job Requirements:
+ Experience with survey and research design, data analysis, and data visualization
+ Experience developing health surveys
+ Experience analyzing health surveys
+ Experience with mixed-methods research
+ Experience disseminating data to stakeholders
+ Demonstrated skills in a variety of communication/education methods, including web-based communication, presentations, and workshops
+ Demonstrated ability to incorporate diversity, equity, and inclusion into all aspects of health promotion and data collection, analysis, and dissemination work
+ Familiarity with the Okanagan Charter and Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion
+ Ability to manage and make progress towards multiple priorities independently
+ Strong collaboration skills
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Master's degree in a relevant area from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
+ At least 2 years of relevant experience
+ Applicants must demonstrate an ability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within our diverse campus community
+ Applicants must demonstrate an ability to support diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and belonging relative to their role
Preferred Qualifications:
+ 2 to 4 years of experience in health promotion, assessment and evaluation, or any type of research in higher education.
+ Experience with theory-driven evaluation.
+ Terminal degree in a related field from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
