Assistant Director - Annual Giving

The Assistant Director of Annual Giving plays a key role on the Annual Giving team responsible for Belmont University's fundraising and donor participation goals. The Assistant Director manages a  student engagement center program by establishing an open and engaging line of communication between Belmont University and its constituents, assists with a comprehensive appeal strategy and promotes a culture of philanthropy at Belmont.

Primary position responsibilities include:

Lead the Bruin Engagement Center (BEC): a group of student staff members who call alumni, parents and friends of the University to solicit donations and build relationships beyond campus. Hire, train, supervise and evaluate 2‐3 student managers and a staff of approximately 25 student employees. Coordinate weekly schedules and submit payroll reports. Facilitate record updates, track gifts and pledges, generate pledge reminders, and run regular reports to track program performance. Communicate with Phonathon vendors and troubleshoot as needed to maximize results and ensure high quality experience for student callers and donor prospects.Expand philanthropy education: Play a key role in researching and launching an integrated approach to philanthropy education and establish a Student Philanthropy Council. Empower the council to educate students on the senior gift program and develop strategies to secure and retain young alumni donors. Manage University giving platforms: Serve as a primary contact with vendors, create giving pages, audit gift designations and ensure giving platforms stay in compliance with Marketing and Communication standards. Build cross campus relationships to support annual giving: Work closely with University Marketing and Communications to create appeals and giving platform content. Partner with colleges, Athletics, University Ministries and other campus partners to communicate with constituents. Coordinate student recruitment with Student Life and facilitate student payroll through Finance & Accounting and the Federal Work Study program.Assist with the operation of a donor centric annual giving program: Work with the Director of Annual Giving to develop and deploy comprehensive multichannel solicitations. This includes Belmont’s annual Bruins for Life, Day of Giving campaign, among other appeals. Conduct on‐going stewardship activities to further enhance and deepen the relationship between donors and Belmont. Provide outstanding customer service: Lead with a customer focused approach when working with internal and external constituents. Embrace a variety of duties and projects related to internal operations and project management.

Other Duties

The role will have general duties related to content creation, customer service, donor stewardship, data and reporting, etc.Administrative and strategic duties, including but not limited to, managing the Belmont development email inbox and communicating with vendors.The above statements describe the job’s essential responsibilities and requirements.
