Position Title: Assistant Director (Facilities), Campus Recreation and Athletic Facilities

Reporting to the Director of Campus Recreation and Athletic Facilities, the Assistant Director (Facilities) is responsible for daily management of the Renaissance Coliseum and multiple outdoor spaces on campus. Day-to-day responsibilities include operation of all shared spaces in the Renaissance Coliseum, coordination of facility setups for internal and external clients, and supervision of student staff.
Primary Responsibilities
Direct operational supervision and daily operations of the Renaissance Coliseum, including scheduling, setting up, tearing down, etc. for NCAA Division I athletic practices and contests. Serve as point of contact and departmental representative for large scale events as needed, including day of event operations for major external events. Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and develop a student staff consisting of Student Event Managers, Building Supervisors, and Event Staff. Utilize, manage and train student staff on daily operation of Renaissance Coliseum technology such as the Media Control Room, building sound board, light board and video boards. Ability to serve as control room manager for events such as Bradley’s commencement, external graduations, etc. Manage key and card access control for all interior and exterior doors of the Renaissance Coliseum.Manage event logistics in collaboration with Intercollegiate Athletics, such as event diagrams, staffing, set-up/teardown for all practices, games and special events and emergency planning for Athletic hosted events. Work in collaboration with the Assistant Director of Event Services to secure external group rentals and execution of external events.Work with University staff to ensure facility maintenance, custodial, and grounds needs are met. Manage all outdoor spaces table, chair and staging requests, delivery, and setup for the University community. Assist the Student Involvement team with Welcome Week, Parents’ Weekend, Siblings’ Weekend, Homecoming and other cross-departmental projects and needs.Evening and weekend work to be expected.Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with experience in facility/event management and planning.Candidates must possess exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills in addition to proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel. Candidates must also be detail-oriented, possess excellent problem solving and analytical skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Must have a valid US driver’s license.Ability to lift/move a minimum of 25 lbs.Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Sports Management, Sports Administration, Recreation, Exercise Science, Business Administration, or related advanced degree.Experience in facility/event management and planning with intercollegiate athletics.Experience supervising part-time/student employees.Qualified candidates should submit a cover letter that addresses the qualifications of the position, resume, and complete contact information for three professional references.
