Assistant Director-Financial Reporting & Lease Accounting
Summary Performs the following function on a timely and accurate manner in accordance with all the rules and procedures of BMHCC. Responsibilities + Lease Accounting Management Supervise Manger-Financial Reporting and Lease • Provide appropriate accounting treatment for certain contracts, such as but not limited to, lease agreement, renewal, amendment and termination. • Perform month-end close activities related to lease accounting. • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts related to lease accounting such as but not limited to, right-of-use (ROU) asset, ROU liability - short term/long-term, and the related rent expense accounts on a monthly basis. • Provide schedule for annual audit and update the related footnotes in the external financial statements. • Support Lease Query users in the Baptist system by providing guidance, training and ability to give direction on unusual circumstances. • Maintain Lease Management System while transitioning to Lease Query solution. • Coordinate with Accounts Payable on the timely processing of lease payment. • Manage the successful implementation of Infor Lawson and Lease Query interface (accounts payable and general ledger). • Manage internal and external relations to key stakeholders such as Directors, Controllers and accounting team members, Supply Chain, IT and Lease Query support team. • Manage the appropriate lease accounting policy and continuously update it on a timely manner. • Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings. • Supervise, train and coach for continuous development of a team member. Financial reporting • Prepare interim and annual audit schedules • Coordinate communication between external auditors and hospital/clinic CFOs and other personnel • Provide documentation as requested • Prepare external financial statements including footnotes, disclosures and related schedules • Perform technical accounting research as required based on business circumstances • Prepare quarterly financial reports for external agencies • Provide financial disclosures as needed • Prepare various monthly financial reports using Infor Lawson and Corporate Performance Management financial systems Month End Close • Review account details and record journal entries for various entities • Prepare account reconciliations • Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports Assist with the consolidation of BMHCC financial statements • Record and reconcile monthly activity for various joint ventures • Record monthly journal entries for various entities Assist with system wide budgeting processes • Backup administrator for Infor Corporate Performance Management system used for financial reporting and annual budget • Provide technical assistance to corporate department directors and entity finance personnel Annual 990 • Prepare and enter 990 data for Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation, Baptist Patient Safety, Baptist Best Health, and Baptist Home Care, Inc. Research Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as needed to ensure compliance in all aspects of financial reporting • Requires extensive knowledge of GAAP § Assist CFOs, senior leadership and BMHCC department directors with financial data/questions Requirements, Preferences and Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting Active CPA license 8-10 years of related accounting experience Experience with accounting software, preferably Lawson and Lease Query Public accounting experience is preferred Thorough knowledge of GAAP and other accounting standards Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills Problem-solving skills Attention to detail and thoroughness About Baptist Memorial Health Care At Baptist, we owe our success to our colleagues, who have both technical expertise and a compassionate attitude.
