Additional Information:Starting salaries typically fall in the lower half of the salary range; however, they are ultimately determined by the scope of the position, the candidate's relevant experience, and internal equity.

+ Collaborates with the Director of Development and DER team to craft and execute strategies to increase the level of unrestricted gifts among HDS alumni and friends, and overall alumni participation in giving to HDS. This includes making a strong case for support of HDS, tracking progress of donor giving habits, and identifying trends to enhance the annual giving solicitation program.
+ Generates and analyzes giving and demographic data to inform strategies for increasing annual giving overall. Plans and implements direct mail and broadcast email appeals, in coordination with the Associate Director for Development Strategy and Donor Relations. This includes planning a multiyear case for giving story arc, in support of HDS fundraising priorities.
+ Manages data for appeals; consults with the Systems and Data Coordinator on segmentation and gift officers on personalized outreach; analyzes results; makes improvements based on findings.
+ Facilitates the choices of authors for appeals and may include writing from author perspectives.
+ Works with vendors, including graphic design (as needed) and print house, for production of direct mail appeals and annual giving marketing materials.
+ Collaborates on marketing messages and materials for annual giving with other relevant team members.
+ Works to systematically improve the integrity of the database – tracking returns and responses.
Alumni Engagement and Volunteer Management
+ Collaborates with the Associate Director for Alumni Relations by serving as a liaison to the Alumni/Alumnae Council (AAC) and its committees, as well as the Alumni Ambassadors program, including cultivating future members for both. This may also include meeting follow-up actions and supporting on campus and regional alumni events, such as the annual Gomes Honors.
+ Conducts ~50 visits (in person or Zoom) with alumni per year to deepen their engagement with HDS, including asking for annual gifts. Writes and records contact notes in the development database.
+ Coordinates with the Associate Director for Alumni Relations and front-line fundraising colleagues to identify alumni volunteers and potential Council nominees.
+ Develops relationships over time with a portfolio of alumni who are or have the potential to be $1K+ annual donors and/or volunteer leaders. Size of portfolio to be determined, likely 100-150.
Other/ Both
+ Identifies opportunities and collaborates on projects with other HDS departments (Student Services, Career Services, and Communications) in support of alumni and annual giving programming and outreach. Attends campus events and gets to know students in order to inform programming and outreach.
+ Monitors the Alumni Relations and Giving inboxes and facilitates appropriate responses.
+ Utilizes the Salesforce Marketing Cloud system to design and send emails for appeals and for broader alumni relations purposes.
+ Maintains familiarity with best practices and liaises with University-wide projects/programs.
+ Occasionally liaises with Alumni and Development Services on gift processing, as needed.
+ Performs general administrative duties in support of annual giving as needed.
+ Performs other duties as required.
+ May include meetings in the Greater Boston area and occasional travel for regional events.
