Scope of Job
To assist in planning, organizing, and managing the operations of the UTRGV Athletic Ticket Office. Participates in the development, implementation and execution of sales programs and initiatives.
Description of Duties
+ Assists with planning, organizing, and managing the day-to day operations of the UTRGV Athletic Ticket Office.
+ Responsible for actively prospecting new leads for season tickets and group sales opportunities through phone, e-mail, social media and face-to-face appointments and data mining.
+ Oversees and manages all operations of the ticket office for the assigned sport, ensuring efficient service and positive experience.
+ Develops, plans and executes group sales for all ticketed sports.
+ Ensures an optimal number of customer touchpoints are executed and tracked on a daily basis. These touchpoints will include, but not be limited to, phone calls, e-mails, texts, in-person meetings, and other forms of communication regarding ticket renewals, new sales, and other necessary outreach.
+ Prepares and maintains accurate records of ticket sales and attendance figures for use in developing and analyzing departmental reports and projections.
+ May represent the department at community events and be a member of select community and civic organizations as needed.
+ Explores other opportunities that will enable UTRGV Athletics to positively impact the local community.
+ Has a visible presence at UTRGV athletic events and be comfortable stewarding current relationships and creating new relationships with UTRGV athletics fans and other stakeholders.
+ Works closely with the athletics marketing department for all in-game sales experiences.
+ Oversees the reconciliation of ticket office sales and cash funds and supervises gathering and evaluation of statistics related to ticket sales.
+ Leads outreach efforts for community, school, and group sales.
+ May assist with all fundraising events within the athletic department.
+ Supervises, trains and schedules all assigned staff.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.

Licenses/Certifications
None.
Required Experience
One (1) year of experience in ticket operations, development, or marketing and promotions in either the collegiate, professional or sports marketing field.
Preferred Experience
Experience working in a similar capacity in college athletics, professional sports, sales, or community relations. Knowledge of sports ticket sales strategies and/or a network of relationships within the UTRGV and RGV community.
Equipment
Use of standard office equipment.
Preferred: Experience with ticketing software.
Working Conditions
Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Usual office conditions plus attendance at various University sports events. Ability to work extended hours that are often outside of the normal business schedule such as evenings, weekends, and holidays. Occasional travel is required. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. UTRGV is a distributed institution, which requires presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley.
