Assistant Director of Academic Budget
Position Number: 001304 Department: Academic Affairs (Adm) Employment Type: Permanent - Full-time Months Per Year: 12 Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This executive-level serving position serves on a team of five and works collaboratively to support budget and resource management for the Division of Academic Affairs. The position will support resource management for the division, monitor/assist with budget planning for divisional colleges/units, manage various financial transactions, monitor/perform monthly financial reconciliations, and lead projects and initiatives unique to academic affairs. Performs a range of financial and accounting related duties in support of the Division of Academic Affairs: financial monitoring and analysis, professional knowledge in the areas of budget and resource management, decision-making and problem-solving skills to ensure effective operations, communications and interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships and achieve division mission, build and maintain business partnerships to effectively support division colleges and academic support units. Minimum Experience / Education: Bachelor’s degree and four years of progressively responsible experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Preferred Education Skills and Experience: + Master’s degree in Business Administration or a related discipline + Professional experience in higher education and/or public sector + Experience working in a large division at executive level + Experience working with multiple fund types, proficiency in data analysis and compiling reports for decision-making, strong organizational skills, advanced verbal and written communication skills, ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects + Demonstrated experience and proficiency in working with various data management and financial tools including, but not limited to, Microsoft Applications (Excel), Google Suite (Sheets), Enterprise Systems such as Banner/PeopleSoft that include a broad suite of tools to support institution-wide business functions (finance, hr, purchasing, travel, etc.) + General knowledge with preparing and importing data into a reporting tool (e.g., Tableau and Smartsheets) and creating dashboards for divisional financial analysis
